Christmas 2010 in pictures

Gene & Carter sprinkling the reindeer food outside.  Gene made food for Santa's reindeer in school.
Eldon in his reindeer bunting.  I took the boys on a drive to look at lights Christmas Eve.

Gene & Carter leaving cookies and milk for Santa.

All three of the boys by the tree before we opened gifts.

Eldon getting into his stocking.

Gene unwrapping the TRIO Batcave he got from Santa.  Just what he asked for!

And Carter got the big car ramp he wanted from Santa.

His big brothers both unwrapped some Batman stuff, so Eldon had to have something Batman too.

We had a very merry Christmas!  We had a great time with both sides of the family and extra time at home as a family.  I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas and enjoys the new and exciting things to come in the new year!

Gene's Big Day

Gene started going to preschool and he LOVES it!!!  He goes Monday through Thursday in the afternoons.  Here are some pics of him on his first day as a preschooler.
Gene posing by the door outside of preschool.
Gene with his class waiting for the head count to be done so they can go inside.  Of course Carter (in the blue shirt next to Gene) is right there wanting to go with his big brother.

Eldon Ray

Arrived 8-14-2010 at 6:53AM
10 pounds 2 ounces
21.5" long
C-sections are wonderful!  No labor and no pain down under.  From start to finish including a tubal ligation, not even 20 minutes!!!!
He smiles all of the time!  He has one of those smiles that lights up his whole face and makes mommy melt.
Messy Boy!  He is eating cereal (because he is ALWAYS hungry) and we usually get messy.
We went to the pumpkin patch today.  Gene is showing him his baby pumpkin.

Week of Fun

It has been hard to keep my little buddies entertained lately.  It has been so hot and humid and I am too pregnant to be outside in the heat.  We have had a couple of cooler days where I was able to take the boys to the park and let them run.  They love to climb on the equipment and look like adorable little monkeys doing it.

Carter climbing his way to the top of the "Spiderman's web" as they call it.

The boys hammin' it up on the teeter totter.
Gene on "Spiderman's web."  He had the biggest smile on his face and then of course hides behind his legs when my camera snapped this picture.

I am hoping that the baby decides to make an appearance this week.  If not, at least we are supposed to have some cooler weather that will allow us to play outside.

Waiting........

We have had a busy couple of weeks.  We went back to Audubon to visit my parents and grandparents.  The boys had to check out Papa Gene's big truck.
Grandma Joyce bought the boys a pool to cool off in while they were there.  From the looks of it, the boys were trying to film their own episode of Wipeout.

Tuesday, I took the boys to the Jones County Fair in Monticello.  We rode on rides, watched the motorcross riders, ate some carnie food, and checked out the animals.

The boys were upset that the cows weren't at the fair yet, but they ended up pretending
to be cows in the giant hay ring and thought that was pretty cool.

There is a great park in Sand Springs, IA that has mechanical swings you can ride anytime.  I am trying to do some extra fun stuff with the boys while we wait for their new brother to be born.
All in all it was a fun trip until Gene had a meltdown.  For now, we are just hanging out trying to stay cool while we continue to wait for Eldon to make an appearance.

Pictures

Carter in a see through tube at the Playstation
The boys next to a parked train car in Stone City.  Gene had to point out that the
police man put the sign there.  That is why they couldn't get on the train.
Checking out the chicks at Theisen's.  Gene held one later, but I didn't have the camera handy.
